SWEENEY RUSH SPORTSMAN MODIFIED RACERS TAKE HOME $23,000 IN VALUABLE PRODUCTS FOR "MANUFACTURER

(Pulaski, PA)...Sharon Speedway hosted the sixth annual "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD Performance for the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Sportsman Modified powered by Pace Performance division last Saturday night (August 17). While Garrett Krummert won his second straight Hovis Auto & Truck Supply Touring Series event, eligible drivers shared in a record $23,000 of product giveaways!

"Manufacturers Night" has grown each year for the division from $4,600 in the inaugural 2014 season at Lernerville Speedway to $11,000 for year two in 2015 at Sportsman's Speedway. Beginning in 2016, Sharon Speedway took on the "Manufacturers Night" and the value in prizes grew to $17,000; it jumped to $19,000 in 2017, and then hit another milestone of $20,000 last year at Sharon.

Twenty-five of the 33 drivers on hand were eligible for the product giveaways. Those 25 drivers and the cars they were competing in did not race in a non-RUSH sanctioned Sportsman Modified/602 event that conflicted with a RUSH-sanctioned event during the 2019 season. In order to remain eligible for the 2020 "Manufacturers Night", which is expected to grow again, drivers/cars cannot compete in a non-RUSH sanctioned Sportsman Modified/602 event effectively immediately up until the 2020 event.

There were 44 product packages valued at a minimum of $300 up to $1,420. With 25 drivers eligible, that meant 19 of them left with two product packages with a total value of at least $600! Those 25 drivers averaged receiving $920 in product giveaways!

"The rain tried to dampen the spirits early but what a great night of racing and product giveaways we had last Saturday for Manufacturers Night," stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig. "The car count was great, the racing was tremendous with lots of lead changes and six drivers battling for the win at the end, and to see the racers leave with all the valuable product giveaways is tremendous. We have to thank the 28 companies that took part to support this night for the racers. It's much appreciated."

Jim Rasey, who is in his first year of RUSH racing, finished fifth in the feature, but won the night's grand prize of two TBM Brakes F1 Tornado Calipers and two F3 Tornado Calipers along with brake fluid plus a package of six sheets of white aluminum from Wrisco Industries for a total value of $1,870!

Preston Cope may have failed to qualify for the feature, but record his third podium finish in the "Wheelman" race and was very lucky on the "Manufacturers Night" drawings. The 18-year-old fourth year RUSH Sportsman Modified racer won two Holley 80541-1 650 Carburetors for a total valued for $1,400!

Sharon Speedway points leader, Kole Holden, not only finished second for the second straight week as he's now finished in the top four all nine nights at Sharon this year, but also had a big night in the Manufacturers Night drawings. Holden won a Lincoln Electric Power Mig 140C Welder and Utility Cart along with a Modified Manifold Mounted Expansion Tank and Recovery Tank from Art's Radiator for a total value of $1,220!

Tony Tatgenhorst, who finished eighth in the feature and won his third "Wheelman" non-winners race, left with $1,185 in Manufacturers Night products. The Columbiana, Ohio driver won a trailer alarm system and Hasp Plus trailer lock from Trailer-Alarms.com along with a $500 gift certificate from Russ King Racing!

"I am super excited to say that I won the Classic Ink prize so we are getting some shirts!," expressed RUSH racer Chelsie Kriegisch, who won the $600 48-piece apparel package. "I also won a prize from Landrum Springs so that will benefit and help us out too. Thank you to all the companies for donating!" Chelsie's sister Jessica also made out well winning a complete set of 4130 black FK Rod Ends along with a drum of RUSH 91 fuel and two Sunoco 5-Gallon Race Jugs for a total value of $900! The two sisters won a total $1,850 of products in the drawings.
