FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series sponsored by Max Fab will be back in action this Saturday night at the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Al., for the second Annual Governors Cup, a 60 lap event that will pay $10,000 to win and $500 to start.
Michael Page of Douglasville, GA., took the inaugural win in 2018 in a caution free event over Jake Knowles and Jason Hiett and will be one of the top drivers to beat as the series moves to its 10th race of the season.
Along with those drivers that are expected current Southern All Star points leader David Breazeale of Four Corners, MS., will be in action along with four time series champion Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., Zack Leonhardi of Cartersville, GA., the current Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com rookie leader, Billy Franklin of Alabaster, AL., Mark Dodson of Caledonia, MS., last week’s Southern All Star Thunderhill winner Ashton Winger of Senoia, GA., Austin Arnold of Kosciusko, MS., Neil Baggett of Columbus, MS., Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, GA., Ross Bailes of Clover, SC., Tanner English of Benton, KY., Tyler Clem of Ocala, FL., plus many more top regional drivers from all across the southeast.
This will be the largest paying race of the year at Talladega Short Track and should be one of the biggest crowds of the year as 45 supers were on hand and a very nice crowd was in attendance.
Pit gates will open at 3pm with drivers meeting at 6pm hot laps 6:30pm and race time 7:30pm.
The format used will be the standard $10,000 to win format used by the Southern All Stars, there will be SUNOCO Race Fuels/Knowles Race parts qualifying, Hoosier racing Tire heat races, PPM Racing Products B mains and a 60 lap feature.
