‘Baby Shoe’ featuring 60-lap Modified Feature this Saturday at Kinross


With less than a month until the biggest event in the history of the Kinross Speedpark hits the track, drivers and fans will get a solid preview this Saturday Night.

The quarter-mile asphalt oval will roar to life with their 2nd Annual ‘Baby Shoe’ event this Saturday, July 13th

Qualifying is set for 4 PM with racing action starting at 6 PM.

The ‘Baby Shoe’ is a marquee event at the track highlighted with a 60-lap Modified Division feature that will see the winner locked-in to the Hot Shoe 100 to be held at Kinross on the weekend of August 9-10.

The evening will also feature a full show of ABC Stock Cars and Four Cylinders.

Track officials are expecting competitors from across the Midwest United States to join the regulars representing Michigan and Ontario in the highly anticipated Modified event.

Special main grandstand pricing is set at $12 USD / $15 USD for Adults, $9 USD / $11 CDN for Seniors (60+) and Students (12-17) while Kids 11 & Under are FREE.

Off the track, the Kinross Speedpark and Fox Boyz Racing are proud to utilize this event to raise funds for the Hospice of the EUP (Sault Ste. Marie, MI) and ARCH Hospice (Sault Ste. Marie, ON).

Limited edition ‘Baby Shoe’ t-shirts will be available trackside with proceeds benefiting the two local institutions.

Looking at the point standings, Alanson, MI competitor STEVE SADDISON enters the night with a two-point lead over TIM AHO (Sault Ste. Marie, MI) in the track’s premiere division, the Modified Division.

Sault Ste. Marie, ON second-generation pilot DUSTIN JACKSON sits in third a mere four points out of the lead.

KEENAN SPURWAY leads fellow Canadian Sooite JOHN CARTER in the ABC Stock Car A-Division by seven points while DENNIS AHO (Sault Ste. Marie, MI) caps off the podium positions.

The ABC Stock Car B-Division sits with TODD NYBERG (Pickford, MI) looking over his shoulder at BUDDY PALAHNUK (Goualis River, ON) for the top spot, and five points behind him.

Petoskey, MI driver BRAD LEACH rounds out the top three.

Following a feature win in his first visit of the season, Indian River, MI youngster KYLE HARTUNG leads LANDON STARK (Lewiston, MI) in the ABC Stock Car C-Division while LOGAN MORROW sits close behind in third.

While a five-point lead sees ROB WAGNER (Prince Township, ON) pacing KEN FEWCHUK (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) and CODY BEACH (Petoskey, MI) in the Four Cylinder Division.

Kinross Speedpark is conveniently located at the Chippewa County Fairgrounds in Kinross, MI and can be found by taking Exit 378 off the I-75.
