Mother Nature take another at Macon Speedway; Firecracker 40s rescheduled

(Macon, IL) For the fifth time this season, Macon Speedway officials have been forced to cancel a night of racing at the 1/5-mile racetrack. This time, much like the others, Mother Nature’s wrath of heavy rains proved to be too much as the grounds of the facility were over saturated. The Dynagraphics/95Q Firecracker 40’s have been rescheduled for Saturday, June 29 as part of Bud Light Ladies Night.

For Macon, the cancellation is the second in-a-row, also losing the POWRi Midget Speedweek event the week before. Rain has wreaked havoc on tracks all across the country in 2019, causing a record number of rainouts at some tracks.

The next few events for Macon Speedway are big ones so everyone is hoping the weather starts to dry out. Saturday, June 29 will feature the 40-lappers for the Decatur Building Trades Big Ten Pro Late Models as well as the Topless Modifieds. Also in action will be the Neal Tire & Auto Pro Mods, Sportsman, Archers Alley Street Stocks, and Hornets. For Bud Light Ladies night, all women will receive tickets for just $5 each. Lastly, at intermission, a kids gold rush will be held on track.

Macon will then be right back in action on Thursday, July 4 for the highly anticipated Herald & Review 100. The 39th running of the event will see the DIRTcar Summer National Super Late Models running for $5,000 to win in addition to the Modifieds running with the Summit Modified Nationals. The Neal Tire & Auto Pro Mods will also be in action. Fireworks will be held after the racing action.

The last event of the busy week will be on Saturday, July 6 when Bob Brady Auto Mall presents the Raminator Monster Truck. The Dean Garland Classic is also on tap for the Midwest Stock Car Tour and the Sportsman Topless 40. Several divisions will be in action.
