Rocky Mountain Superchargers Celebrate 10th Anniversary

As July winds down, we are looking back on the whirlwind our Tenth Anniversary Tour has been so far.  We started in Roswell, New Mexico - our first trip to race in that state - and one week later our caravan was in Marion, South Dakota.  No wonder our trailers need new tires.

This month has been a record breaker.  We came out of Oahe Speedway with our competitors owning track records for funny cars and dragsters.  Doug Schneider (Milliken, Co) took the funny car honors with a 6.236 blast at 224 MPH on a hot day.  Winnipeg Manitoba based Ken and Scott Murray added the e.t. record for dragsters at 6.159 to their previous speed record at the track.
We weren't done.  At Onawa (our first trip to Iowa) Matt Kreft from Omaha was determined to own the Superchargers 1/8th mile e.t. record.  He got it at 4.10.

The crowds have been strong, too.  We think that the popularity of the Competition Products Funny Car Rampage is a big factor in that.  Our Champion this year will, no doubt, be WyoTech graduate Nick Johnson who races the Prairie Fire car from the Wayne's World Racing organization in Texas. The Competition Products Rampage pairs the two quickest funny cars at each event for a final round.  The side by side, wheel to wheel competition for funny cars is always a show highlight.  Of course, we continue to include dragsters, Pro Mods (and Top Sportsman) along with altereds in a 21st Century ProComp format.

We are pleased to see how many racers from so many distant places are now racing with us.  We even added another funny car racer from Arizona and a front engine dragster from Minnesota  to our regular group centered in Colorado and the surrounding states.  We now have raced with some great competitors from Hannibal, MO to California and from Canada to Texas and New Mexico.
Our list of venues has grown, too.  We say "our" because our partners and volunteers make it happen.  Sure, there are frustrations but when we are sitting in a grandstand and two of our cars pair up and scream down the race track, it is all worth it.  When the folks sitting behind us say "That's what I came to see!"  That motivates us to keep digging.

Thanks for all of your help.  We hope that knowing how your help and our effort are producing results will be welcome news to you.
Bulletins as they occur.
