Design Engineering's New Fire Wrap 3000 08-29-2008 |
|
Excessive heat is an enemy to all, especially those competing on the race track. Ask any racer about extreme underhood heat and how damaging it is to engine components and the negative effect it has on performance. Then there is the potential for driver stress, fatigue and even dehydration that can occur when heat finds its way into the drivers compartment.
Protecting and insulating important underhood components as well as the driver is not only a good first step in controlling heat, but one of the simplest forms of heat protection.
Design Engineering, Inc (DEI) has just introduced Fire Wrap 3000, a high-temperature resistant sleeving to insulate wires, cables hoses, fuel and brake lines from not only underhood heat but hot oil spills, moisture, harsh abrasions and most chemicals.
Constructed of a glass fiber sleeve, Fire Wrap 3000 features a heavily coated outer sleeve with a proprietary compound consisting of iron silicone rubber capable of withstanding repeated exposure up to 3000 degrees F (1650 degrees C) and direct temperatures up to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C).
Fire Wrap 3000 features a Velcro hook and loop closure edge that makes installation simple. Just cut to appropriate length and wrap around the desired line requiring insulation.
Durable and flexible enough for tights bends, Fire Wrap 3000 can also be used around the shop to protect air lines, pneumatic hoses and much more. Fire Wrap 3000 is available in 2-foot lengths in ID sizes of 5/8", 1" & 1-1/2", and can also be special ordered in custom-cut lengths.
